Our Story

At a very young age, our broker dreamed of becoming an Architect and designing an amazing home with an underground garage to house his collectible cars (think lamborghini & rolls royce) and a separate guest home for his parents when they reached the age of needing constant care.  As our broker matured & began to see reality, he began to realize the cars held no importance to him and the people in his life were the only things he truly valued.  He never lost the dream to own his own home, however, so when he reached 21 years old, he bought his first home, with every intention of renting it out and buying another.  Throughout his early adult years, he bought numerous homes and rented them out in many different communities within Montgomery.  Since he was raised helping his parents continuously remodel their home and lake cabin, there was a bit of a spark inside him which gave him a desire to continue down that path.  He began reading countless books about rentals, investing, and flipping homes.  After his first flipped property, he couldn't wait to do another, and then another.  Years later, having two amazing children changed his life forever and he no longer had the time to work on homes every weekend, while also coaching sports, making memories & teaching life lessons.

Skipping forward many years, when a close friend's parents had to be moved into assisted living facilities, due to serious health issues, our broker was asked to help with repairing the parent's home and putting it on the market, so his friend could recoup as much money as possible to assist with the parent's long-term care needs.  He accepted this request with open arms and, while managing the remodel process, found that old spark which had been missing for years.  He called his own broker at the time and, while talking to her about the enjoyment he experienced during this remodel, she suggested he get his real estate license and come work with her firm as soon as possible.  He decided to take her advice and enjoyed working with that firm for many years, while also gaining invaluable experience and extensive knowledge in working through the logistics and legal challenges involved in buying & selling property for others.

Skipping forward many more years, our broker decided to put his years of experience and knowledge to use with helping other agents who shared similar dreams of helping as many people as possible achieve their goals of owning their own home and beginning the journey toward a brighter future.  To make that a reality, Southern Homes Real Estate was formed.  Today, we're a small, but growing, boutique firm, covering a large area in and around Montgomery & Lake Martin.  We were born out of the American dream of homeownership and we want nothing more than to help others achieve that goal.  However, our capabilities extend far beyond that dream today.  We now help residential & commercial investors, with decades of experience, increase their returns and succeed in long-term investment strategies.  However, our humble beginnings will never be forgotten or discarded.  Our primary focus will always be to help others buy a first home, sell & upgrade their existing home, downsize for a better retirement, and to help as many as possible achieve their life's greatest goals.
